THAT'S IT

European colonization sucks big time. Just flipping through pictures of the aboriginal people of Australia. These original people were all dark-skinned people. What happened to them? What happened to the original owners of the land?

I am reading this nice book, yep, that Mae took its last copy. Cool book.

The only good thing about colonization, any kind of colonization, are the so-called "half-breeds". I think they are the most beautiful people ever. But that is so easily annuled by the consequences of not belonging to any of the halfs...

What book are you reading? I'm kinda out of ideas at the moment...:)

They do look beautiful, the half breed. But you know Kayla, nothing is more beautiful than the Original look, archetype look with its roughness, and authenticity.

The book is Germs, guns and steel. Interesting book. Have some cool pictures, talking about the history of the formation of the world. Sociological, political, economic. He is doing it in a nice way.

"the Original look, archetype look with its roughness, and authenticity" - I think a friend of ours, namely Hitler, will agree with you on this pure race issue. Not to mention the Apartheid... Sorry if I offend you, that's not the idea!
The only archetype that seems somehow real to me is the blood - looks the same, no matter the color, race, and other minor details. On the inside we're all the same anyway...
I really have nothing against mixing everyone with everyone! Maybe when there's nothing left of the old arhetypes you mention will finally be just human beings, no race discrimination involved.
I would also be quite happy if there was only one religion - no belief discrimination either.
All there's left is gender and economic discrimination, but I really have to think more before finding a sollution for that!:)

Kayla, Interesting comment. No I was not offended. However, I didn't mean any race discrimination. I was talking about the 'beauty' I have seen in their faces, sad that this beauty was tortured because some people didnt appreciate it or were just interested in the land and resources they had.

I am not anthropology major, but I just like to sink to the origins of things. As much as I can. I believe so much in US. Human. Love the beauty they hold inside, and also outside.

If you only think of religion as "something that people believe in", than it is probably just one. But, as I remember, although we all say there is only one God (well, almost all, Hinduism for example would have a different idea on this), we still call ourselves Christians, Muslims or Jews or whatevere. Then there are dozens of ways of interpreting the main religion, thus leading to an even deeper segregation...
When I say I would like the Earht to have only one religion, I actully want this divisions to suddenly disappear.

Yes, Kayla. I so much understand what you are saying. I personally problems with 'religion' when it becomes a separating tool-- which it is if understood literally and through the ego prism.

I don't ever think that all religions will suddenly disappear! Not in our time. It is a facade for many different 'fixations', personal and global. But what would the world be like if there was no religion seggregation?

why not write a post on that, Kayla? You sounded too passionate about that.

Kayla, religion has always been there since the creation of humans, nothing new there. But having only one religion would be very new. Why didn't one of those many gods worshiped by people throughout history not just converge all the people to believe in him through one religion?

It is a tough question for everyone, and it sure does need some seious thinking from everyone.

Someone always tells me that you should know exactly where to direct your complains. Don't waste your time asking homage from the servants, go to the owner. Go directly to the source. He would know how to help, otherwise it is a waste of time. I agreed back then, but still had problems. Now I don't agree, and still have the same problems. I tend to conclude that these problems are my destined luggage that I need to get rid of but they are deeply rooted in me. I had to take a dive down. And yes, there is Boss, who isn't really a Boss. CONSERVATIVE OR OPEN

Are you bent mutaharira or muhafza? Not sure what does this question mean? Not even sure if I am this or that? I don't really know. I am extremely both. Or is it both extremely?! Well, I am extremely conservative and extremely open, both at the same time. Funny! Not really, but confusing actually, to me and to others. And with confusion comes sadness, and with sadness comes the urge to just disappear. Last night, I returned to M.'s apartment around 2 in the morning. I was attending this gathering at A.'s place. I was supposed to leave with M. but the conversation got more and more interesting and I just decided to stay till the end of the conversation. No sooner had it started than it glided to talking about religion in general, morals, human nature, and all these juicy stuff that I love tremendously. Of course, talks about islamic history came was hit upon more than once, critique to hadith, koran gathering, and the like were all touched upon. I don't have a solid opin...
